LOOKING FOR NANA
By JG
We were on my father's boat, just me and the kids. It was the first time that they had the opportunity to all ride the boat together since Dad had a smaller one last summer. We had a great time just cruising in the water out by the Courtney Campbell Causeway. It was Trinity's first time on the boat, and she loved it.
For most of the ride, she laughed, giggled, and pleaded with her Grandpa to go faster. She loved to feel the wind in her hair and the light spray of the ocean water. Everything was so new to her, so she soaked it up like a sponge.
For a moment, though, I caught her looking out. Maybe it was out of wonder. But, events that happened a few weeks later brought new meaning to this picture. Someone very special walked out of our lives to become someone very different. This person left quite suddenly to go somewhere far away without even saying goodbye.
So, this picture is from Trinity to Nana. We are all searching for where you went. You never needed to give it all up. We were all here for you.
