THE SPIRIT OF STUPID
By Jose Gomez, Jr., CEA, MVTA

Sometimes we can be so stupid. I know that it's such a strong word, but we really don't need any more pampering and babying than we already receive - so let's me be frank. To understand the truth, or even the possibility of the truth, is supposed to open doors and enable us to consider things that we have never considered. Yet, more times than not we chase our own ideas right over the cliffs of ignorance, and suffer injuries from crashing right into the truth that awaits us at rock bottom.

Much of this lies in our proficiency in the art of creating delusions. We create mindsets, cultures, fads, and perspectives that only lightly consider modifications and completely disregard polar opposites. The left side of the room moves much further from the right side than it once was, as we make our foundational moral, ethical, and spiritual decisions.

I pray that I will move forward and upwards instead, always stepping closer to the smiling face of my God, who has been so gracious to me. He has endured my tangeants, forgiven my prejudice, and ultimately refined my views of His intentions.

I fall in love more every day....
