BIG TIME DREAMERS
By Jose Gomez. Jr., CEA, MVTA
I am approached by entrepreneurs every day with dreams and visions. Occasionally these visions are accompanied by a business plan, which most of the time lack proper research, planning, or financial forecasting. Many times, the ideas are incredible, obviously inspired by God and his precepts. Sadly, most of these ideas never get off the ground. Christian entrepreneurs, including ministers and church planters, tend to believe that God will take care of the details while they sit around and dream of the big picture. Meanwhile, the Word says that the opposite is true.
God is the one with the big vision. It is our responsibility, as his vessels, to handle the details. Fail to plan, plan to fail. Never believe that you should not know everything about your venture or ministry pursuit. It is your job to understand systems, planning, financials, and organization management. Your calling and your ministry are two different things. God ordains and calls you for a purpose. Nothing you can do prepares you for that – He just chooses you for some reason. However, your ministry is something that takes preparation. Don’t rush God’s plan – He doesn’t need you to do that. Just take care of the details of planning and management of the idea, and let God handle the dreaming.
Take that approach, and you are virtually guaranteed great success.
